Substitute Teaching

I recently started subbing for Poway Unified School District!  It took me a couple of months do to the application. There was a pre-application to get a substitute teaching certificate from san diego county involving lots of paperwork, a fingerprinting check which costs 80 bucks! Then once I go the substitute teaching permit I applied through PUSD to be a substitute teacher for the district. This involved another fingerprinting background check (such a waste of time and money to do it again), more paperwork and letters of recommendation.   I got letters of recommendation from Ginger Carpenter, Jessica Dahlquist and Gary Waldvogel. It was so kind of them to write letters for me.  I also had to make a resume, which I haven't done in 20 years! It felt good to look at my resume and realize that even thought I haven't been officially working for so many years I have been contributing to the world in some ways and that I have personally been growing in many areas and have ...
 Oh, how I have missed blogging!  Even if it is just for me and the kids, it is such a fun way to record some of the fun and sweet moments in life. Fall 2021  -  after 18 months of COVID disruption of school, all the kids went back to school this fall and it is very exciting! Clare started 10th grade at Poway High School. She had done home school for 8th grade and planned to start at PHS as a freshmen but COVID interrupted her plans. Even though she did get to play varsity tennis last year (go Clare!) she had never been inside a classroom until a sophmore! She is happy to be on campus and has such a busy starting with 6am seminary, then school and then tennis. Week days she doesn't get home until between 5-7pm!
