Sacramento weekend trip
We had a great weekend trip to Sacramento to see the Feather River Temple open house in Yuba City. Several months ago I was lamenting to Kindel that I want to take all the kids to a temple open house. He looked around and found this Feather River Temple would be having an open house at the end of summer. Southwest airlines has cheap flights to/from Sacramento so we booked a weekend trip for all of us to go.
Kindel's sister Donne lives in Reno which is only a couple of hours away so we invited them to join us. My kids are now obsessed with her husband David who has been married 3 times, has 11 children and was a secret agent. lol not really. But he did work in military intelligence and speaks russian.
Here's the run down of what we did.
SATURDAY August 26 -
5am -leave for the airport! Early!
7am - southwest flight from SAN to SAC - only 1 hour and 7 minutes flying time. Easy peasy.
9:30 - rent car and get breakfast. found some place on yelp. Clare tried something new - veggie benedict.
10 - downtown sacramento to see the capitol building. No public tours are given on the weekend but it was pretty. Beautiful building and great trees.
11:30 - met David and Donne and Michael (age 8 but size 12) at the waterpark. Sunsplash in Roseville. We changed into swim clothes and enjoyed a few hours of waterslides. The first one I went on was Clare, Calvin, jojo and I. Then we went to get Kindel for the race ride. Lex was eating some snacks with David and Donne so she missed the first couple of rides. When Lex was ready all my kids ran off to to the "big rides". Kindel and I took Michael out for a bit into the wave pool and then on a couple of slides. I ended up going backwards down one on a tube and it felt like a colonoscopy!
